Ingredients

Bourbon or Aged Rum: 60 ml
Date Seed Coffee Syrup (see note below): 10-15 ml
Aromatic Bitters (Angostura): 3-4 dashes
Garnish: Orange twist

Instructions

Build the Base: Add the Date Seed Coffee Syrup and aromatic bitters to a mixing glass.

Add Spirit: Pour in the bourbon or aged rum.

Stir and Chill: Fill the mixing glass with large ice cubes. Stir gently for about 30 seconds. Stirring is preferred for spirit-forward drinks, as it chills and dilutes the drink without over-aerating it.

Serve: Strain the mixture into a rocks glass over one large, fresh ice cube.

Garnish: Take a piece of orange zest, twist it over the drink to release the essential oils, then drop it into the glass.
